In 2005, EP Logistics began not with a fleet or logistics platforms, but with a single opportunity—and a single customer. Foxconn, one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturers, needed personalized Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) services in Ciudad Juarez. Understanding the critical role logistics played in their supply chain, they generously offered us a small space at the farthest corner of their manufacturing facility to get started.
With just a three-person team, a computer, a phone, and a deep understanding of border operations, EP Logistics got to work. While our VMI operations were managed on-site in Juarez, cross-docking activities were supported by a small facility in El Paso, Texas. As both companies continued to grow and needed more space, we mutually agreed it was time for EP Logistics to relocate to a larger, independent facility—a move that would mark the beginning of our broader expansion.
What started in the corner of a client’s facility has grown into a binational logistics powerhouse.
“We started with just three people—doing everything ourselves. There were no fancy systems. Just hustle, knowledge, and commitment.”
— Octavio Saavedra, Founder
Today, EP Logistics is a leader in cross-border supply chain management, known for navigating the terrain of international transportation with precision, speed, and innovation. Our journey reflects not only our company’s growth, but the evolution of U.S.-Mexico logistics over the past two decades.
We’re proud of our roots—and even prouder of the partnerships that helped get us here.
From humble beginnings to cross-border excellence
EP Logistics’ story begins in 2005 with a highly personalized Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) operation inside a Foxconn manufacturing facility in Ciudad Juarez. With just three people on-site, we managed inventory directly from a small corner of their plant. At the same time, we supported cross-docking activities through a modest facility in El Paso, Texas.
What started as a focused solution for a single client quickly drew the attention of others seeking a logistics partner who truly understood the complexities of international trade, regulatory compliance, and cross-border coordination.
Over time, EP Logistics has strategically evolved into a regional 3PL powerhouse. Today, we offer a full suite of logistics services—including Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Road Freight, Customs Brokerage in both the U.S. and Mexico, and Bonded warehousing solutions on both sides of the border. Our strength lies in our ability to truly listen to our clients, understand their unique supply chain challenges, and craft logistics strategies that fit them like a tailor-made suit.
This evolution wasn’t accidental, but strategic—responding to market needs while maintaining the personalized service that distinguished us from larger, less specialized competitors.

EP Logistics’ multi-location network across US-Mexico trade corridors
EP Logistics’ commitment to excellence is reflected in our organizational growth, expanding from a team of 3 employees in our early days to a workforce of over 300 professionals today. This exponential growth demonstrates not only our business success, but also our ability to attract and retain talent while scaling operations effectively.
The company’s strategic expansion across key border locations has been central to its cross-border expertise. Today, over 300 people work at EP Logistics, many of whom started in junior roles and now lead departments. That’s not just growth, that’s opportunity multiplied.
“The people who believed in us from the beginning are still with us today—now leading teams, managing operations. That’s what I’m most proud of.”
— Octavio Saavedra
With established logistics operations in El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, the heart of U.S.-Mexico trade, EP Logistics has extended its reach to include Laredo, Monterrey, Chihuahua, and beyond, strengthening its binational footprint.
Strategic border presence
EP Logistics strategically established operations in key border communities, creating a network that facilitates seamless movement of goods between the US and Mexico. Our border presence isn’t just about location but deep local knowledge.
EP Logistics created logistics hubs that serve as main nodes in our clients’ supply chains. This infrastructure investment has proven prescient as nearshoring trends accelerate and the demand for Third-Party Logistics (3PL) services rise.
Minimizing disruptions through strategic infrastructure proximity
Our company’s border-centric approach enables real-time coordination between customs authorities, transportation providers, and warehouse facilities on both sides of the border.
This proximity to critical infrastructure allows EP Logistics to quickly address any regulatory changes, customs delays, or logistical challenges that could impact our clients’ operations.
This ensures minimal disruption to supply chain continuity and maintains the speed-to-market advantages that companies seek when operating in the US-Mexico corridor.
The Vision Behind EP Logistics
The early years weren’t glamorous. Octavio Saavedra built EP Logistics from the ground up, often working long hours with limited resources and no safety net. While others scaled back or folded, he stayed the course. That persistence—rooted in belief, not convenience—became the foundation of EP Logistics’ growth.

Founder Octavio Saavedra established EP Logistics with a customer-centric philosophy that continues to guide the company today. His background in international trade provided insights into the pain points businesses face when operating across borders.
Saavedra recognized that cross-border logistics requires more than just moving goods—it demanded expertise in navigating regulatory frameworks, cultural differences, and complex documentation requirements. This insight became the foundation of EP Logistics’ tailor-made approach.
From day one, the company wasn’t built on a one-size-fits-all model—it was made-to-order. Every solution is custom-crafted around the unique needs of each client, whether it’s handling sensitive cargo across the border, managing last-mile fulfillment, or designing scalable warehousing strategies. Over the last 20 years, this commitment to personalized, high-touch service has allowed EP Logistics to evolve from a regional player into a trusted partner delivering solutions across the entire supply chain.
Drawing from his extensive experience in international commerce, Saavedra understood that successful cross-border operations depend on building trusted relationships with both clients and regulatory authorities.
His vision emphasized transparency, compliance, and proactive communication—principles that would set EP Logistics apart in a market too often defined by reactive problem-solving.

We don’t see ourselves as just a vendor; we aim to become a true extension of our clients’ operations. This mindset has been especially impactful in complex cross-border environments, where strong communication and trust are essential to overcoming regulatory and logistical challenges.
Industry-specific expertise
Over 20 years, EP Logistics has developed specialized knowledge in key sectors that dominate US-Mexico trade:
