50% Tariffs on Steel & Aluminum Start June 4

The U.S. government has announced a significant change to import tariffs. Starting June 4, 2025, the tariff rate on steel and aluminum imports will increase from 25% to 50%. This will apply to a broad range of products, including raw metals and finished goods such as machinery, auto parts, appliances, and construction materials. No exemptions by country will apply under this policy.

his increase is expected to raise costs for many U.S. importers and manufacturers, and may lead to changes in sourcing strategies and supply chain timelines. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is expected to release official guidance soon, but all impacted shipments entering the country on or after June 4 will be subject to the higher duty rate. Please note, these tariffs are not eligible for refunds, even if goods are re-exported.
